After finishing this book I had to reflect on what I wish to rate it. I decided on 4/5 stars, merely because it had a lasting effect on my mind and emotions. If a book can linger in my mind, that's HUGE points for me. Now I do have some criticism for the story, but not too much. I felt that several aspects of the story were not needed. Several plots and subplots weren't necessary to tell this story, and were quite irrelevant in fact. But...that didn't make them not enjoyable, it just hurt the reputation of the story in my mind (in hindsight). I would however recommend this book, it was a very smooth prose and I LITERALLY read it within a day. I will read more from Jay Bell.
