Song of the Summer King

Song of the Summer King - Jess E. Owen I have absolutely no idea how Ms. Owen was able to create an entire world filled with: lore, mythology, kings and queens, secrets, deception, betrayal and the like in such a short book. But she did.I would never be able to truly summarize this book in the best way I could so I will instead give a very brief summary in my terms.Rashard (Shard) is our protagonist, he's a young gryphon. Full blooded Vanir,a race of gryphon. His life is filled with lies and secrets that are being kept from him. when he's thrust into the world in a glorified exile role by Sverin, the Red Kings, he is forced to come to terms and learn about who he is.It's a coming of age story with a fantasy twist, I liked it. Though my head is still reeling from all the facts.

Something Like Winter

Something Like Winter - Jay Bell This was astounding. After Something Like Summer, I just KNEW that I had to read more about Tim and find out just how he changed over the decade. And I was not disappointed. I enjoyed this line more, because I felt Tim was a more dynamic character in terms of change and desires. He was flawed enough that he did some bad things and hurt the man he loved. But still wanted him enough to keep trying.

Muscling Through

Muscling Through - J.L. Merrow This was just adorable and so sweet. Al is a slightly uneducated, simple man. And that is all Larry needs to fall in love with the hunk. The opposites of their personalities were a perfect fit for each other. And there was no way to dislike either of them. Awww, I'm blushing thinking about how damned cute this novella was.

Something Like Summer

Something Like Summer - Jay Bell After finishing this book I had to reflect on what I wish to rate it. I decided on 4/5 stars, merely because it had a lasting effect on my mind and emotions. If a book can linger in my mind, that's HUGE points for me. Now I do have some criticism for the story, but not too much. I felt that several aspects of the story were not needed. Several plots and subplots weren't necessary to tell this story, and were quite irrelevant in fact. But...that didn't make them not enjoyable, it just hurt the reputation of the story in my mind (in hindsight). I would however recommend this book, it was a very smooth prose and I LITERALLY read it within a day. I will read more from Jay Bell.

Kamikaze Boys

Kamikaze Boys - Jay Bell This book was very well written. The structure and wording was smooth and I didn't get confused a single time, which is a great score in my book. In fact, I loved everything about the book. I'll be reading more by Jay Bell, as I was very impressed with the story. My obligatory criticism for Kamikaze Boys (why it didn't get five stars) Is that it failed to incite a "wow" reaction from me at the end. Something that spoke to me on a level that it will stay in my mind for a long time. This book will be pretty simple to forget, unfortunately. But I did not feel you should disregard it. It's a great read.

Dynasty of Ghosts

Dynasty of Ghosts - P.L. Nunn This was a great read. I loved it, and the tension building up till the climax was incredible. I was biting my nails and bouncing in my chair as I read, hoping, and praying that everything will be alright. But JUST LIKE Bloodraven (same author), the ending was so anticlimactic. But give it a shot, I think it's definitely worth the read.

True Of Heart [The Draegan Lords, Book I]

True of Heart (The Draegan Lords #1) - M.L. Rhodes Oooooooh. This was great. Super short unfortunately. But it's just enough to get a feel, and it was written very easy to fall in love with the characters. The incredible development of the Draegan race is uber fascinating.

Secret Chemistry (Shifters)

Secret Chemistry - Chris T. Kat This was a very enjoyable read. Though I do feel it could have been MUCH better. Such as more characterization, I felt the characters were very one dimensional. The concept was incredible, and it made for a fun read. I'd recommend it, but keep in mind it's simple writing.

Dynasty of Ghosts

Dynasty of Ghosts - P.L. Nunn This is a GREAT book. It had so many aspects to love, to the very very slow to trust relationship between Bloodraven and Yhalen. It had magic, very very powerful magic that was blossoming within Yhalen. I felt very connected to the main characters, which is really I ever want in a book, to feel something for the characters. It's very violent, and bloody, and has aspects of rape involved. But I just loved the story. My only true complaint is the ending. It's VERY open, and you almost have to assume a sequel will be involved. However! There is NO closure for this book, in my opinion. I believe every book, even those of a series should have a nice closure for that book. And this had done, unless I overlooked it. I really liked this book, I just was bothered by the ending.

Servants of the Crossed Arrows (The Rifter)

Servants of the Crossed Arrows - Ginn Hale DNF. I am so humiliated in myself to make this review, so please forgive me fans of the series. I had to stop reading half way through, because of my utter and total lack of interest in the characters. I felt nothing, it really felt like I was reading a school essay. That being said!!!! I will most likely go back and continue this series in the future, just...not right now.

Ethan, Who Loved Carter

Ethan, Who Loved Carter - Ryan Loveless This was a very sweet book. Two people with problems others in the world may look down upon finding each other and falling in love. It was great.

Till Kingdom Come

'Til Kingdom Come - Evangeline Anderson What a fun little story. And so very erotic. I think this is the most erotic book I've read so far. I mean, in order to control his magic...Elias has to be sexually pleasured by Thrain. It makes for lots of sexual pleasure. :D

Dance with Me

Dance with Me - Heidi Cullinan This entire book had me in tears. It was a beautiful telling and an oh, so beautiful romance. I loved it.

The Christmas Throwaway

The Christmas Throwaway - RJ Scott This was a good read. Quick too. But I just didn't get that satisfaction at the end that I have experienced with other romances. It's a very sweet premise though, keep in mind it's short. It WAS very nice to read, and in the end I did feel the end of book was there. But it didn't keep me quite so enthralled. Thank you for the good read R.J. Scott.

With a Kiss

With a Kiss - Kim Dare This was a VERY great read. Kim Dare has this talent of writing vague enough that you can make use of your imagination but without bogging you down with inane details. I saw each character in my head perfectly. And I fell in love with Marcus and Liam as if they were my own lovers. This was great, and the concept behind it had me intrigued immediately. I'll also say that I read this book in two days. I couldn't put it down.

The Gladiator's Master

The Gladiator's Master - Fae Sutherland, Marguerite Labbe This was a great story. I loved the concept and the hatred in Argon's heart. The sex was...incredible to read. And the ending was very satisfying.
